Spiritual Experiments: Week 3

Principles To Remember

Ego is not real.

There is no such thing as sin.

This world is an illusion.

Only love is real.

Ergo: in the real-real world, there is nothing to forgive.

True forgiveness always leads away from anger, condemnation, and comparisons. It is generous.

Each occasion for forgiveness will be another step to peace of mind.

MINDSET PREP: Do you trust the Universe/God/Consciousness, and are you willing to learn how to be free?

Say YES!

Answer The 8 Questions

1. Admit that you are pissed. PISSED!

I’m mad at _____________________________________ [Name].

Because he/she/they ___________________________________.

And because _________________________________________.

And because _________________________________________.

And because _________________________________________.

(No journaling. There’s no freedom in evaluation of errors -- we are just bringing the darkness to the light. A few words will do.)

2.  Remember that people can only bless you.

The ego is made of nothingness.

There is no such thing as sin. (Mine or others’.)

Condemnation is not real (but it does create illusions).

Others can only bless me.

3. What is the lie you’re telling yourself that allows the ego to keep its teeth sunk into this resentment?

Write it down on paper. Write down any pertinent lie you can think of. Sometimes you will sense a gentle release when you’ve found the core lie. Note that sometimes lies masquerades as beliefs.

4. What are you making this person responsible for in your life?

  • Financial abundance
  • Relationships/family
  • Romance
  • Self-esteem/Self-worth
  • Emotional status

Nobody, not even you, are responsible for these things in your life. Only God Consciousness is responsible for your life. You are responsible for removing the blocks to the awareness of love's presence. Yeah, you have to move your feet, but pray first, listen for what to do next, and know that your feet are carried by the power of God in you. Only the divine can protect and guide these aspects of your life.

5. What do you *get* (or get out of) from giving them the power to control these aspects of your life?

6. In what ways have you withheld love from this person?

7. Right now, bow your head and say a prayer for this person’s happiness, peace, prosperity, and abundance.

8. Right now, ask God Consciousness/The Universe: what should I do for this person? Do not establish the form that the forgiveness should take. Simply listen for the answer.

A Course in Miracles says: “Let it not be you who sets the form in which forgiveness comes… He will say exactly what to do, in words that you can understand and you can also use. He is the Answer. You the one who hears.”
